How does the Virtual Grand National work?

The virtual Grand National is a computer-simulated version of the world famous steeplechase.

Using CGI to recreate all aspects of the race as accurately as possible, including the course layout and National fences, the race will take into account the following factors:

  • Age
  • Weight
  • Form
  • Weather conditions

The race will also contain details such as fallers, unseated riders and collapsing fences.

Data on all 40 runners from this year’s race have been taken into account and the computer has generated odds.
