‘Just depressing’ – How Man United fans reacted to latest Stoke City transfer links

Premier League giants Manchester United are understood to be scouting  Stoke City  defender Nathan Collins ahead of a potential move in the summer, according to reports in the national press .

The Red Devils have been linked with the 18-year-old before, who has built an impressive reputation despite minimal senior appearances.

Collins was dropped by manager Michael O’Neill for Saturday’s game against Luton Town, with James Chester replacing him for the 1-1 draw.

The youngster has racked up nine appearances in the Championship, including the full 90 minutes in the midweek stalemate with Blackburn Rovers.

Sky Sports  report that Old Trafford officials are ‘keeping an eye’ on Collins, who they see as a potential star for the future.

Here is what United fans have been saying about the transfer links…

@Locavelli: He has United DNA, get him in.

@PankajPhilwani: I don’t understand some united fans over here. First they say we need to play the youth. We need to sign young talented players as well. And now that we are doing . They are saying these are bang bang average players. Have you even seen them playing. I am always excited for this.

@Afattqa: If this is the direction we’re getting ourselves into, i’d rather have no direction at all.

@DeveshUTD: All these will be very smart signings till we get 4 solid first team players along with them.

@MxZvGx_: I would say get him in and loan him back out to Stoke for a few seasons, worth the risk, looks to have potential!

@UtdCallum: This is just depressing.

@oMelodys: He’s like a budget De Ligt! Natural leader.
