Just one Covid-19 death at Royal Stoke & County hospitals in last 24 hours as UK death toll hits 41,126



Just one more coronavirus death has been recorded across the University Hospitals of North Midlands in the past 24 hours.

Latest data released by Public Health England shows there have now been 319 deaths recorded at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Hartshill and Stafford’s County Hospital.

There has been no increase in deaths at the North Staffordshire Combined Trust – which includes the Harplands Hospital. The figure remains at six.

Eleven people have died at the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust – which operates Haywood Hospital, Cheadle Community Hospital, Leek Moorlands Hospital and Bradwell Community Hospital among others. This figure has not increased in the past 72 hours.

At the Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust, which includes Crewe’s Leighton Hospital, 195 people have now died – an increase of two from yesterday’s figure.

At the East Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust – which looks after Congleton War Memorial Hospital and Macclesfield District General Hospital – the number of deaths has increased to 123.

Nationally, the UK death toll now stands at 41,126 after a further 243 people died after testing positive with the virus as of 4.30pm on Monday.

The number of new UK cases in the past 24 hours is 1,387.
