Learner moped rider and passenger stopped by police on Staffordshire street

A learner biker has had their moped seized by police.

The rider was in the Stafford area when they were spotted carrying a pillion – rear – passenger by officers from the Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU).

The bike has now been taken off the streets.

A Staffs Police RPU spokesman said: “When stopped in Stafford this morning, this learner rider had no insurance and was carrying a pillion passenger.

“His bike has been seized and is now in bike jail, waiting for the rider to come up with the bail money to free it.

“Expensive lesseon learnt.”
