Linfield and Stoke City are hoping for Uefa clearance to live stream their friendly at Windsor Park on Saturday.
The warm-up game will be played behind closed doors at Windsor Park, Michael O’Neill’s home from home as Northern Ireland manager for the best part of the last decade.
It is likely to be shown for free on YouTube but details will be released later this week if the idea is given the green light.
Stoke arrived in Belfast yesterday for a training camp and will head back to the Potteries on Sunday.
Linfield have flown back to Northern Ireland yesterday after Champions League preliminary ties in Nyom, Switzerland.
The second of those, against Kosovan side Drita, was called off yesterday when two members of the opposition tested positive for Covid-19 and the squad was put into quarantine. Another player had tested positive on Friday and was already in isolation with a teammate with whom he had been in close contact.
Linfield are hoping for a bye to the qualifying round and, with it, a £250,000 bonus.
