Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged to ‘lead the country’ despite being in self-isolation.
Mr Johnson took to social media to reveal he was in quarantine after a fellow Member of Parliament tested positive for coronavirus.
The Prime Minister is said to be self-isolating in Downing Street.
It comes at a time when Mr Johnson has been busy with Brexit talks and issues with top Government advisers – such as Dominic Cummings – leaving Downing Street.
Writing on Twitter the PM said: “Today I was notified by NHS Test and Trace that I must self-isolate as I have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
“I have no symptoms, but am following the rules and will be working from No10 as I continue to lead the government’s pandemic response.”
