Live: Met Office predicting hours of snow overnight across North Staffordshire



Heavy snowfall has been forecast across North Staffordshire overnight.

The hour-by-hour forecast from the Met Office has predicted widespread snow and ice across North Staffordshire with a yellow weather warning in place until 10am tomorrow.

Gritters have been deployed across the area.

The Met Office warning states: “Icy stretches likely to bring some travel disruption overnight and into Wednesday morning.”

And snow has already started to fall in Leek.

Staffordshire County Council have confirmed their gritters have been out this evening.

A spokesman said: “Settling snow is predicted overnight on mid-to-higher ground. Our gritters will be out but please take care in the morning and drive to the conditions.”
