Magnificent Seven! Danny Higginbotham leans towards Stoke City rather than Manchester United in dream team

Danny Higginbotham has been indulging himself with his favourite 11 from the players he shared a dressing room with over his long career.

And it’s a measure of the quality among his Stoke City team-mates that seven of them make his 11.

The only exceptions are Southampton’s former keeper Antii Niemi and left back Wayne Bridge, plus Manchester United pair Jonny Evans and Roy Keane.

Higgy’s full Xl (with presumably a place among the subs for himself):

Goalkeeper: Antii Niemi (Southampton)

Right back: Andy Griffin (Stoke)

Danny Higginbotham and Andy Griffin were roommates at Stoke City.

Left back: Wayne Bridge (Southampton)

Central defender: Abdoulaye Faye (Stoke)

Central defender: Jonny Evans (Man Utd)

Winger: Jermaine Pennant (Stoke)

Midfield: Roy Keane (Man Utd)

Midfield: Rory Delap (Stoke)

Left winger: Matty Etherington (Stoke)

Celebration time... for Ricardo Fuller and Matty Etherington at The Hawthorns
Two of Higgy’s picks, Ricardo Fuller and Matty Etherington, celebrate a goal at West Brom

Striker: James Beattie (Stoke)

Striker: Ricardo Fuller (Stoke).

His team was picked for a TV broadcast on Premier League TV with commentator Steve Bower.
