A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital after being injured in an attack in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services descended on Northwood Court, a high-rise apartment block in Hanley, shortly after 6am this morning (April 11).
The victim was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital after suffering what has been described as ‘minor’ injuries.
An eye-witness told StokeonTrentLive: “Two police cars and an ambulance arrived at around 6.30am. The forensics then also attended at 10.20am. It looked serious.”
Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to reports of an assault at Northwood Court in Hanley.
“The occupant of the address had suffered a minor injury that required hospital treatment.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the incident and we’re asking witnesses to get in touch.”
