A 40-year-old man is being quizzed by police after families complained their door handles were being tried.
Families living in the Hazel Road and Pear Tree Lane area of Chesterton reported suspicious activity in their area at around 11pm yesterday (March 3).
Police searched the area and a man was arrested.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a man trying door handles and entering gardens in the Hazel Road and Pear Tree Lane area of Chesterton, shortly after 11pm last night.
“Officers conducted a search and arrested a 40-year-old man from Newcastle on suspicion of failing to appear at court.
“He remains in police custody.”
