An allegedly drugged-up driver was caught flouting lockdown rules by whizzing an off-road bike through a Staffordshire beauty spot.
The Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU) – a team of specialist traffic cops – have been out tackling anti-social motorbike riders across parts of South Staffordshire.
They spotted the biker in the Pye Green Road area near Cannock Chase.
The man – who has not been identified – was then arrested.
A Staffs Police RPU spokesman said: “Tacklig anti-social riding in the Cannock Chase area including Pye Green Road.
“One male under arrest for drug-driving, possession of cannabis and other traffic related offences.”
Moments later another driver was arrested on Limepit Lane, also relating to drug and traffic offences.
The reasons the public are allowed out has been limited since late March when Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed the coronavirus lockdown. This meant people could travel for work, buying essentials, or could go out for daily exercise.
