Man cut from car after smash on busy North Staffordshire road



A man had to be cut free from a car after a smash on a busy Stoke-on-Trent road.

Police, firefighters, and paramedics raced to Whitmore Road near The Westlands shortly before 9pm tonight (February 25).

On arrival the emergency services found a man was trapped in a vehicle.

Firefighters freed him by removing a roof from a car before he was handed to paramedics.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called to Whitmore Road at 8.50pm.

“One casualty, a male, was rescued by crews using roof removal.

“Crews from Newcastle and Hanley attended the scene.”
