An elderly man has died following a blaze at his South Cheshire home.
Crews were called to Albert Street, Crewe, yesterday (February 24) shortly after 8am.
He was taken to hospital with burns but he sadly died earlier today.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and investigations are continuing.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “An elderly man was taken to hospital with serious burns and sadly he passed away earlier today.”
Firefighters from Crewe were sent to the blaze and used breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one covering jet to extinguish the flames.
