Man given specialist trauma care after ‘medical emergency’ in North Staffordshire street



A man was given specialst trauma care after becoming unwell in the middle of a North Staffordshire town.

Paramedics were called to Church Street by Market Place in Leek on Thursday, December 31, to reports of a ‘medical emergency’.

Two ambulances attended the scene.

A man – who has not been identified – was then taken to hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Church Street at 6.45pm on Thursday.

“Two ambulances attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man who was in a serious condition.

“He received specialist trauma care at the scene. He was then transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
