A man is in a critical condition in hospital after falling off a bridge over the A500.
Police and paramedics were called to the seen at Porthill roundabout shortly after midnight this morning.
His condition has been described by police as stable.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 00.10am this morning to the junction of the A500 and A527.
“We sent one ambulance, one paramedic officer and two BASICS doctors.
“We treated a man for serious injuries and he was taken on blue lights to Royal Stoke.”
Police are urging anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: “At around 12.10am this morning (Tuesday November 10) police were called to the A500 at Porthill (junction with A527) to reports that a man had fallen from a bridge.
“The man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance and is in a critical but stable condition.
