A man is in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in a brutal attack in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police discovered the man – who has not been named but is aged in is 40s – after being called to an address in Maddock Street, Middleport.
He was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital at 8pm on Saturday (May 30) where he remains.
His condition is described as ‘serious’.
Now officers have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for information after a man in his 40s was left with serious head injuries at a house in Maddock Street, Middleport, on Saturday.
“Officers attended the address at 8pm and found the man, who had suffered injuries to his head. He was taken to hospital and is undergoing treatment, but his condition is serious.”
