A man has been killed in a serious incident on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent.
Paramedics attended the incident and on arrival discovered the man had suffered multiple serious injuries.
Sadly nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
Staffordshire Police closed the D-Road for the duration of the incident, before reopening the road at around 8am.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 1.04am to the junction of the A500 and Shelton Old Road, two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a BASICS doctor were sent to the scene.
“On arrival we discovered one male patient who had suffered multiple serious injuries.
“Sadly it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
