A man suffered a broken leg in a dawn attack near a incinerator in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were called on February 16 by the victim, who said he had been attacked on a towpath near the incinerator in Stoke at around 6am the previous day.
He said he had been stopped by a man who briefly spoke to him before kicking him.
The victim suffered three fractures to his right leg as a result of the attack.
Officers are investigating the incident and have issued a description of the man as they appeal for information.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “The offender is described a white eastern European man in his late 20s, of stocky build.
“Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage and anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 765 of February 16.”
