A man was taken to hospital after an incident on a Stoke-on-Trent street last night.
Paramedics and police – including armed officers – were called to the Cliff Street area of Smallthorne shortly before 9pm.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said they had been called at 8.47pm on Tuesday evening.
A spokesman said: “We were called to reports a person had been hit by a car.
“We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer.

“We treated a man who had been in collision with a car at a low speed.
“He had suffered a number of injurues. He was taken by ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
