Meet Barney who has lived in kennels for ten years – can you offer him a retirement home?

Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Barney is looking for a home where he can live out his golden years.

The 13-year-old boy has been looked after by Animal Lifeline for 10 years, but is often overlooked by those wanting to rehome a dog.

He’s now looking for the perfect armchair in his retirement home.

A spokeswoman for the kennels – based in Cellarhead – said: “Barney is one of our older residents. He’s been with us for quite some time, he has really mellowed out with old age.

“He’s quite relaxed and doesn’t need much exercise as he prefers to lounge around on his armchair in his pen.”

Barney is just one of the dogs we are helping rehome as part of our Give a Pet a Home campaign.

StokeonTrentLive have been helping rehome dogs and cats in need of forever families across North Staffordshire for several years.

We’ve been working with Animal Lifeline, City Dogs Home and the RSPCA Blakely Farm to help them find loving homes for the animals they take in.

If you think you could offer one of the dogs a home please contact Cassie at cassie@animallifeline.org.uk or ring our re-homing coordinator on 01782 638341
