Two men who tried fleeing from police officers and dumping drugs after being stopped on a Staffordshire street have been arrested.
Officers attempted to stop the pair in Foregate Street, Stafford, at around 3am today (March 27) only for one of the men to attempt to run away.
He was later detained by officers and cash and cannabis were found at the scene.
The Staffordshire Police Dogs and Armed Response Vehicle team revealed on social media that Police Dog Archie found the drugs dumped in a building yard.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman added: “An 18-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and a 21-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs. They remain in custody at this time.
“Inquiries are on-going.”
