Longton Bus Station came under attack by vandals on Friday (January 1).
Almost every window at the Baths Road station was smashed in the attack and glass has been left all over the floor.
City councillor for Broadway and Longton East, Asman Ali, has branded those responsible as ‘selfish idiots’.
In a post on his Facebook page he said: “I’m really annoyed that idiots smashed all the glass in Longton bus station yesterday. Luckily, Stoke-on-Trent City Council were quickly on the scene, clearing up the glass and making everything safe.
“But at a time when our police and council workers are busy keeping our city safe from coronavirus, I’m outraged that selfish idiots give them more to do – and put the cost of repair on residents.”
Longton traders have also been left outraged by the attack.
Owner of Sudd’s Spuds, David Suddes, says the vandalism is ‘disgraceful’.
He said: “I’m shocked, it shouldn’t be happening.
“The should be brought to book because it’s absolutely disgraceful. The bus station is in the middle of a town centre opposite the train station.
“I’m doing my best to keep my business open during the coronavirus restrictions and attacks like these don’t help.
