More than 1,000 people join this online community to keep fit from home during the coronavirus lockdown

More than 1,000 people have joined an online community keeping fit during the coronavirus lockdown.

Popular Fenton and Newcastle-Under-Lyme gym chain 4Fitt has successfully adapted its business to the coronavirus pandemic – by offering free online home workouts every day.

Launched in 2014 in Water Street, Newcastle, 4Fitt expanded with a second premises opening on Victoria Road in Fenton last year.

However, due to the closure of all gyms because of the current coronavirus pandemic, all of these services have had to be adapted.

And since March 23, the 4Fitt team have been developing an online community on Facebook which has already achieved more than 1,000 members.

At 4Fitt, members can benefit from gym classes, personal training, diet plans, nutrition advice and body fat assessments.

Now, they can log on daily to join in with the gym’s famous Ultimate Fitness class – virtually. Each trainer offers a different circuit and they’re available at different times throughout the day so that no one has to miss out.

Founder Callum Eckersley said: “We’ve all got to stick together right now and do what we can to support each other. We want to help people keep fit and active so we’re committed to a series of workouts with our trainers every day waiving all class costs.

“It’s proving to be very popular not only with our existing members but with lots of new faces too. We’re passionate about exercise so we’re over the moon to be developing this community further, helping one another mentally as well as physically.”
