There are now more than 140 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Cheshire East local authority area.
Figures released by Public Health England this afternoon, Saturday April 4, show there are now 144 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Elsewhere in the county there have been 149 confirmed cases in Cheshire West and Cheshire, 97 in Warrington and 61 in Halton.
Due to cases resulting in hospitalisation generally being the only ones being tested the actual figures will be far higher.
Although London’s various boroughs combined have more cases, Birmingham currently has the highest number of confirmed cases for any single English local authority area – with 1,138.
There are now 41,903 confirmed cases across the UK – including 34,707 in England.
