Paramedics were unable to save the life of a 49-year-old woman after being called to a ‘medical emergency’.
They discovered Katrina Smart in the bathroom of her home on Woolrich Street, in Middleport, on October 9.
Her inquest has now been opened and adjourned by senior coroner Andrew Barkley.
He said: “She was found in the bathroom. She had sustained a head injury two weeks ago. The inquest into her death will now be resumed on February 3.”
The Middleport mother-of-one’s funeral took place on October 30. It passed along Birches Head Road, in Birches Head, on the way to Carmountside Crematorium.
