Four more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Stoke-on-Trent – new figures show.
Public Health England this afternoon – Tuesday March 31 – said there were now 37 confirmed cases in the city, up from 33 in yesterday’s update.
In the Staffordshire County Council area (all of Staffordshire except Stoke-on-Trent) the number is now 244.
Across the border in Cheshire East the number has gone up from 61 to 74.
As always, these are only the confirmed cases and, due to only cases resulting in hospitalisation generally being tested, the overall number of cases in each area will in fact be far higher.
Another 3,009 cases have been confirmed across the UK – bringing the total to 25,150.
According to the PHE figures there have been 16 deaths at hospitals run by the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.
The figures show 10 people have died at hospitals run by the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
