‘Panic and confusion’ – What Leeds United fans are saying about Stoke City defeat

It may have only been a friendly fixture but Stoke City’s 3-0 victory over Leeds United certainly got fans talking.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team are gearing up for life in the Premier League after winning the Championship title.

Both sides were missing players away on international duty for Tuesday’s behind-closed-doors match at the bet365 Stadium.

Tom Ince caught the eye as Stoke came out on top, scoring one and setting up the other two for Nathan Collins and Lee Gregory respectively.

Leeds will not be pressing the panic button just yet, though some of their followers were less than impressed with the performance of keeper Kiko Casilla, who might have done better for at least one of the goals.

Here’s what some Leeds supporters were saying about the game on Twitter…

@leedolan77: It was just about getting some fitness going, it’s not the end of the world.

@LuFc___MoT: Great tactic! Give all the Prem a false sense of security!

@Segundo_VoIante: Ok let’s get shot of Kiko asap.

@Leeds_sie84: Well the defending for the Stoke goals was shocking.

@willowlufc: Friendlies ain’t for everyone.

@TBradley23: Think we can file Casilla under the “didn’t really work out for many reasons” folder.

@MOTweets1919: I’m sorry but Kiko creates panic and confusion. I also don’t care if Meslier is good (he really is btw), but he’s 20 years old. He shouldn’t have to feel like a no.1 for a newly promoted team.

@PremierLUFC: Just watched the highlights and I can see why Casilla is going to be 2nd choice.

@KlichBait: Those having a meltdown because a makeshift Leeds side lost to Stoke in a friendly should probably just go and support Man City.
