‘Paralytic’ Ryan Allwood has been jailed after stamping on a girl and smashing the inside of a petrol station.
North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard the 18-year-old was under the influence of Xanax and alcohol during the incident on February 21.
The court heard Allwood, stamped on the girl and destroyed £69 worth of stock at a BP petrol station in Tamworth.
In a previous incident in November last year Allwood, of no fixed address, breached a restraining order and assaulted a police officer while being arrested.
He has now pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, assault, criminal damage, and breaching a restraining order.
Prosecutor Dylan Wagg said: “The defendant had drunk alcohol and taken Xanax, they went to a garage together and the complainant said he was ‘paralytic’.
“He started throwing stock from the garage and damage had been done to the store. He then grabbed the girl and hit her head. He stamped on her face five times.
“Police arrived and the girl had two lumps to the back of her head. One of the workers saw him punch the girl to the face and said he was trashing the shop.”
The court heard Allwood had previously assaulted a police officer in November when he breached a restraining order at Tamworth Christmas lights switch on.
John McGregor, representing Allwood, told the court his client could not remember the incident inside the store.
He said: “There is no excuse for his actions against the police officer.
“He was not in control of his faculties at the petrol station. He says he cannot remember the circumstances.
“He’s a young immature man and was a care child. It’s that immaturity that I ask the court to consider.”
Judge Timothy Boswell jailed Allwood for 16 weeks and ordered him to pay a £122 victim surcharge.
Sentencing the defendant, he said: “In November the police arrested you and that was the second time you had assaulted a police officer.
“You kicked the officer and that is more serious as it can do more damage. Kicking a police officer crosses the custody threshold.
“In the second incident you were on drink and drugs and that is your choice.”
