Penkhull flag competing in final of World Series of Flags

Polls are now open in the final of the World Series of Flags – and a Stoke-on-Trent flag is in the running to bring home the total.

A Twitter poll – which finishes at 11am tomorrow morning – sees Penkhull take on the Scottish island of Tiree for the title of best flag.

Penkhull has seen off competition from Ireland, Scotland, the USA and the West Midlands to get to this stage – with a thumping semi-final victory over Bloxwich.

The tournament, organised by the Flag Institute, has seen flags from all four UK home nations, the Republic of Ireland, France and the USA compete for the title.

Penkhull are already the English champions, having won the FA Cup of Flags earlier this year.

The Flag Institute said:  “There’s a lot on the line in today’s final as the winner claims British & European glory as well as the international World Series of Flags crown itself.”
