Pervert Phillip back behind bars after asking girl, 13, for nude pictures

Pervert Phillip Browne is back behind bars – after failing to tell police he had a smartphone.

The 40-year-old sex offender had also made contact with two ‘girls’ who he believed were aged 13 and 14 – and asked one of them to show him nude photos of herself.

Now Browne – who was jailed for similar offences in 2018 – has been jailed for two years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Prosecutor Mark Brookes said the defendant had only been released from prison on September 17. He was homeless and provided with a phone so he could keep in contact with the probation service and the police.

But he obtained another phone, bought a SIM card, and was able to access the internet.

The defendant’s Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) banned him from making contact with children.

But over four days in September he made contact with two ‘girls’ whose identities had been created by a group.

Mr Brookes added: “This was a very serious and persistent breach.”

Browne, who was previously living in Silverdale, and had since moved to Rosliston Road, Burton, pleaded guilty to breaching the SHPO, two charges of attempted SHPO breaches, and attempted sexual communication.

Stuart Muldoon, mitigating, said: “These are not the most serious offences of their type. I ask you to take into account the emotional issues he has.”

Recorder Anthony Warner handed the defendant a new SHPO.

He told Browne: “You breached the SHPO by having a phone with internet access which you did not tell the police about when you should have done.

“You contacted two decoys who were identified, by them, as being 14 and 13. You were plainly seeking nude photos of one, who you believed to be a young girl.

“Your position is very serious and aggravated by your previous convictions for similar offences.”
