Police and paramedics called to woman in distress at Stoke-on-Trent high-rise


Police and paramedics were called out to reports of a woman in distress at a Stoke-on-Trent high-rise.

Crews were dispatched to Northwood Court in Ringland Close, Hanley, just after 5am this morning.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing several police vehicles arrive as well as two ambulances and a rapid response car.

A woman was found at the scene and assessed by paramedics before being discharged.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 5.10am this morning (June 2) to reports of a woman in distress at an address in Northwood Court, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

“Officers attended for a short time but the incident was left with the ambulance service.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.07am this morning to reports of concern for a patient’s welfare at an address in Ringland Close in Hanley.

“Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival crews found one patient, a woman. She was assessed and discharged at the scene.”
