Police appeal after van containing £10,000 worth of tools stolen in Stoke-on-Trent



Police are appealing for information after callous thieves stole a van containing £10,000 worth of tools in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to Lightwood Road, Lightwood, yesterday morning (January 6).

It came after the van owner discovered their silver Mercedes Sprinter had been stolen overnight.

The vehicle contained tools worth between £10,000 and £15,000.

The theft took place at around 1.30am on January 6 and the stolen van is believed to have been driven towards the direction of Stone.

The van’s registration plate is DA67 NHD.

Now officers from Stoke-on-Trent South Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating the offence with local CCTV being checked.

PC Colin Hitchins, of Stoke South NPT, who is investigating the offence, said: “These types of theft have a huge impact on people’s livelihoods and we would urge anyone with information to contact the police.”
