Police appeal after yobs torch car in South Cheshire car park



Community police officers are appealing for witnesses after yobs torched a car in a South Cheshire street.

Firefighters from Crewe were called to the town’s Walthall Street shortly before 2am today (March 2).

On arrivat they discovered a vehicle well alight in a car park.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “At 1.50am firefighters were called following reports of a car fire in Crewe.

“On arrival the crew discovered a car well alight in a car park.

“One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

“It is believed that the fire had been started deliberately.”
