Police arrest five people as part of crackdown on drug supply in Cheshire prison



Five people have been arrested as part of a police crackdown into the supply of drugs in a Cheshire prison.

Earlier today (January 13) officers executed warrants at five properties across South Cheshire as part of an investigation into the supply of drugs at HMP Risley in Warrington.

Four drones along with cash and drugs were seized during the raids.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Two women aged 19 and 25 were arrested at addresses in Kestrel Drive and Pyrus Avenue in Crewe, while two men aged 26 and 31 were arrested at addresses in Woodside Avenue and Grove Court in Alsager.

“A third man aged 31 was arrested at an address in Waldrons Lane, Crewe. Four drones were seized during the warrants along with drugs and cash.

“All five remain in custody helping police with their inquiries.”
