Police called after cow seen ‘wandering’ through Stoke-on-Trent housing estate

Police officers were called to a Stoke-on-Trent housing estate to reports a cow was seen ‘wandering’ up the road.

Officers attended Minden Grove in Smallthorne shortly after 6.30pm yesterday to reports the animal was walking up and down the residential road.

When they arrived they discovered the farmer had already found the cow and was trying to get it in the back of a trailer.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 6.30pm to reports of a cow on Minden Grove.

“We were called by someone saying it was wandering up and down the road.

“But on arrival the farm staff were on the scene and the cow was able to be put in a trailed and taken to safety.

“We have no idea how it got there.”
