Police carry out patrols near college after being called to disorder



Police have been carrying out patrols near a North Staffordshire school after being called to ‘disorder’ last week.

One person was taken to hospital with an eye injury after being called to St John Fisher Catholic College on Ashfields New Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, on Thursday afternoon.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said:  “We were called to St John Fisher Catholic College on Ashfields New Road in Newcastle shortly after 3pm on Thursday 5 March to reports of a disorder.

“A male was taken to hospital with an eye injury. Officers carried out CCTV enquiries and have been carrying out high visibility patrols in the area.

“An investigation is ongoing.”
