Police caught a car speeding through the Meir Tunnel before tailgating vehicles delaying it on the A50.
Officers clocked the vehicle as it passed them in the 30mph zone on the dual carriageway and continued to follow it towards Sideway.
The car was eventually pulled over and the driver was reported for the offences.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman, in the force’s road policing unit, tweeted about the incident.
He said: “Vehicle stopped after speeding through the A50 Meir Tunnel 30mph limit, passing us in the process.
“It then continued to speed the rest of the way while tailgating anyone holding it up to the A500. Driver reported at the roadside for offences.”
