Police caught a motorist ‘driving like they were in The Italian Job’ after a car crashed into a bollard.
Officers came across the vehicle in Rugeley in the early hours of the morning.
Significant damage was done to the front of the vehicle, which came to rest against the traffic bollard.
A drugs wipe for cannabis was conducted at the roadside which the driver failed.
The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman tweeted about the incident: “Driver in Rugeley driving like they were in Italian Job!
“Failed drug wipe for cannabis. Luckily no one injured. Bed for one.”
