Three people were caught flouting the UK lockdown rules – by conducting a motorbike sale at an M6 service station.
The Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) – a team that patrols the M6 and A500 – caught the trio at Stafford Services just five minutes into their weekend shift.
It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered to the country to stay in doors as the NHS battles against the global coronavirus pandemic. Latest figures show 145 people in Staffordshire have caught Covid-19 with a further 21 in Stoke-on-Trent.
A CMPG spokesman said: “Within five minutes of our shift we had to speak to three people at Stafford
“The purpose of their journey – to buy a motorbike. This is not an essential journey.
“Thank you to the majority who are staying at home and saving lives.”
