Two ‘mates’ have been reported for coronavirus breaches after being caught driving around a Staffordshire town.
The Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU) stopped a white Vauxhall Insignia in the Stafford area earlier tonight (December 22).
The night then took a turn for the worse for the driver of the vehicle after police found it was uninsured and travelling on illegal number plates.
The driver has now been reported for driving without insurance.
But has not been identified by officers.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “This car was stopped in the Stafford area.
“No insurance, illegal plates and two mates out for a drive who are in breach of COVID Regulations.
“Car seized and occupants reported for covid breach, plus driver reported for insurance matters.”
Under the Tier 3 coronavirus regulations families are not allowed to meet inside unless part of the same support bubble.
