Police investigating following waste fire



Police are investigating after a waste fire on a South Cheshire street yesterday evening.

Firefighters were called to Eardley Crescent, Congleton, shortly before 7.30pm on Sunday night.

The blaze is believed to have been started deliberately.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said:  “The crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire involving waste materials.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around 20 minutes.

“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
