Police launch murder investigation after woman found dead at Stoke-on-Trent home


Detectives believe a 35-year-old woman found dead at her Stoke-on-Trent home was murdered.

Staffordshire Police have launched a murder investigation after the mother-of-one’s body was discovered at the property on East Terrace, Fegg Hayes, on Sunday, May 31.

A 32-year-old man – who has been arrested on suspicion of murder – has now been bailed pending further inquiries after being quizzed over the weekend.

The result of any post-mortem examination has yet to be disclosed.

The tragedy has stunned the Fegg Hayes community. Neighbours staged a candle-lit vigil outside the property last night.

And tributes have been left on StokeonTrentLive’s Facebook page.

Claire Bould said: “I hope the family get some answers and can then start to grieve and comfort each other.”

Kayla Kilbride added: “She used to live across the road from me and was always so polite and nice. I’m thinking of your family and little boy.”
