Police make two arrests after machete found inside vehicle in Stoke-on-Trent



Police have made two arrests after a machete was found inside a vehicle in Longton.

The vehicle was stopped by Staffordshire Police, in Longton, earlier this morning (January 15).

It was initially pulled over as officers believed the vehicle was uninsured, but they then discovered a machete inside.

The two occupants were arrested and taken to custody.

The Staffordshire Dogs and Armed Response unit tweeted about the incident. A spokesman said: “A vehicle stop in Longton by for no insurance and document offences led to AFOs locating this machete within the vehicle.

“Subsequently, the 2 occupants have been arrested. The streets a little bit safer with this nasty weapon off the streets.”
