Police name man charged with drink-driving after car hits four parked vehicles in Stoke-on-Trent



A man has been charged with drink-driving after a car crashed into four parked vehicles.

Carl Steadman, of Skellern Avenue, Bradeley, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning following the collision in Chorlton Road, Birches Head.

The 52-year-old has now been charged with drink-driving and is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.

Four parked cars including a blue Toyota Yaris, a black Audi A3, a silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Hyundai were damaged in the crash.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 12.06am on Saturday to Chorlton Road in Birches Head following reports of a collision.

“Officers attended and a silver Vauxhall Astra had reportedly collided with a total of four parked cars including a blue Toyota Yaris, a black Audi A3, another silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Hyundai.

“The silver Astra which was in collision with the other vehicles, also sustained damage, including the loss of a wheel.

“The vehicle was subsequently recovered from the road.

“The driver, a 52-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

“Carl Steadman, 52, of Skellern Avenue, Bradeley, was later charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit.

“He has been bailed ahead of a court appearance at North Staffordshire Justice Centre due on August 17.”
