Police name man charged with drug and driving offences in Stoke-on-Trent



Police officers have named a man charged with drug and driving offences after his car was stopped on a busy Stoke-on-Trent road.

Officers stopped a sliver Honda Civic on Leek New Road, Sneyd Green, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday (January 5).

Ivan Tarranda Weekes, of Bouverie Parade, Sneyd Green, was arrested and has since been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine), possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis), driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, failure to cooperate with a drugs swipe and criminal damage.

The 38-year-old appeared before magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning (January 7).

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “A man has been charged with drug and driving offences after his vehicle was stopped in Stoke-on-Trent on Tuesday afternoon.

“Ivan Tarranda Weekes, 38, of Bouverie Parade, Sneyd Green, was stopped in a Honda Civic on Leek New Road at 1.30pm.

“He has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine), possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis), driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, failure to cooperate with a drugs swipe and criminal damage.

“He appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning (Thursday 7 January).”
