Police name teenager charged after man slashed in North Staffordshire street



Police have named the teenager charged with slashing a man in a North Staffordshire street.

Officers were called to the scene outside a block of flats in John Street, Biddulph, shortly before 10am yesterday following reports a man had been sliced in the hand.

The victim, in his 40s, was assessed and treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

Levi Murray was arrested and later charged with woundng with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery.

The 18-year-old, of Slater Street, Biddulph, appeared before magistrates this morning and has since been remanded in custody.

A 40-year-old Biddulph woman was also arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery but has since been released on police bail while investigations continue.
