Police officers seize car on Staffordshire street – three months after its insurance expired



A motorist has had their car seized – after their insurance expired months ago.

Officers from the Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU), a dedicated team of traffic cops, revealed they stopped the motorist in the Stafford area shortly before 11.45pm yesterday (March 13).

Although they did not reveal the exact location of the stop.

On pulling over the motorist they discovered the Volkswagen Golf has been uninsured since December.

A Staffs Police RPU spokesman said: “This car was stopped in the Police Stafford area.

“No insurance as it had expired in December.

“The car is now seized. It will cost money to get back. Along with the points and fines that go with it.

“At least he didn’t hit anyone.”
