Police officers ‘spent hours’ tackling inconsiderate parking at a North Staffordshire beauty spot.
The Staffordshire Moorlands neighbourhood policing team attempted to respond to an emergency call but found themselves unable to navigate past The Roaches near Leek.
With the lockdown still in force and a slightly warm snap, families had flocked to the Moorlands beauty spot.
Traffic monitoring company INRIX officers arrived at the scene shortly after 2pm and were forced to close the Hulme Road while they dealt with cars blocking the highway.
Police revealed the full extent of the issues shortly before 5pm.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Local officers have spent hours directing traffic at The Roaches beauty spot due to inconsiderate parking.
“As a result of the influx of visitors, roads were gridlocked which prevented a first responder from attending a call out.”
