Police quiz man, 22, after woman sexually assaulted at Stoke-on-Trent address



Police have quizzed a 22-year-old man after arresting him on suspicion of committing a ‘serious sexual offence’.

Staffordshire Police made the arrest after reports of a woman being sexually assaulted at an address off Potteries Way, in Hanley.

The alarm was raised at around 5am on Sunday, May 31. Police forensics were seen in the area as officers remained at the property for most of Sunday.

Now the suspect – who has not been named – has been bailed pending further inquiries.

A police spokesman said: “We received a call to reports a woman had been sexually assaulted at a property off Potteries Way. An investigation is underway.

“A 22-year-old man, from Stoke, has been arrested on suspicion of a serious sexual offence. He has been placed on conditional bail.”
