A vehicle has been seized by police in Stoke-on-Trent after appearing to have been cloned.
Officers from the Central Motorway Police Group said the vehicle had been stopped, seized and the driver reported.
The car was tracked using the assistance of a police dog.
A CMPG spokesman said: “This cloned vehicle has been stopped in the Stoke-on-Trent area with the use of preemptive tactics and the assistance of Staffs Dogs.
“No documents what so ever- vehicle seized and driver reported.”
In Stafford another car was seized after it was spotted by officers for having an ‘unreadable’ number plate.
The car was then found to have no insurance.
A Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit spokesman said: “Dirty car with unreadable number plate hidden by road grime turns into a seizure for no insurance.
“Female driver couldn’t remember her lies correctly and found that telling the truth was the best policy in the end. Operation Lightning in the Stafford area.”
